Police to Begin Nationwide Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement on October 2


The Jigawa State Police Command has announced that nationwide enforcement of tinted glass permits will start on October 2, 2025.


In a statement from the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, motorists were advised to apply online. The process is now open on the official portal, possap.gov.ng.


To apply, follow these steps:

  • Create an account using your NIN, BVN, or TIN.
  • Verify your account via email.
  • Log in and select “Tinted Glass Permit.”
  • Upload your vehicle details and supporting documents.
    SP Adam emphasized the importance of double-checking all details before submission and payment to ensure a seamless process.
    After submitting your application, you will be scheduled for a vehicle inspection and biometric capturing at a designated Police Intelligence Department. For applicants in Jigawa, this service will be provided free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters, Dutse.
    The police also warned against using middlemen or unauthorized individuals. This initiative, according to SP Adam, is designed to promote transparency, ensure road safety, and enhance accountability.
    The public is urged to cooperate fully and apply promptly to avoid legal consequences.
