Former Presidential Candidate of the Labours Party Mr. Peter Obi reacts to the state of the country affairs and sufferings of the people of Nigeria.
Mr. Peter who has always been outspoken about the poor leadership of the country raised his concerns on his social media page few hours ago. He narrated how the current President mocked him during the last campaign in the year 2022 and how he has failed the country after becoming the President of Nigeria.
The rate of hunger, unemployment, wrong inflation figures and now National GDP rebasing.
Mr. Peter wrote;
In November 2022, while campaigning in Delta State, the then APC Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, now the President, berated the other Presidential Candidate (Peter Obi), he was ashamed to call his name, saying “Na statistics we go chop all I want is to put food on the table of Nigerians”.
Now 2 years into his 4-year tenure, Nigeria is classified as one of the hungriest nations in the world with millions of Nigerians not knowing where their next meal will come from.
President Tinubu is now overfeeding Nigerians with wrong Statistics from wrong unemployment figures, wrong inflation figures, and now GDP rebasing, all to put a positive spin on our deteriorating economic and household conditions.
Governance is not a rocket science, it’s not a gamble, like I have always reiterated, it requires sincerity of purpose, character, competence, capacity and compassion.
A new Nigeria is POssible.
Mr. Peter Gregory Obi is a Nigerian politician, philanthropist and businessman. He was once a Governor of Anambra State during the regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo from 17 March 2006 until his impeachment on 3 November 2006; he was reinstated on 9 February 2007 and continued his tenure until 2010. He was re-elected for a second term which ended on 7 March 2014.
Peter Obi was a member of the People’s Democratic Party(PDP) who ran for the seat of the Vice President alongside the Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar. He later decamped to the Labour Party to run for the Presidency against the late. Former President of Nigeria, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari in the year 2023.
Mr. Peter was born in Onitsha, Anambra State. He graduated from Christ the King College, Onitsha for his secondary education and attended the well known University of Nigeria,Nsukka, for his tertiary education.
Peter began his career in banking and later went into politics when he contested for Anambra State Government.
