42 year old man, Samuel Otasi allegedly poisoned his three sons in Bayelsa after a church prophecy claimed they were wizards.
According to TVC news interview with Police at Igbogene Divisional Headquarters, Samuel Otasi said his Pastor told him that his ex wife has bewitched his children and made them to destroy him and his family.
The pastor told him to kill them before they will destroy him completely. On his way back from the church, he bought insecticide and went home.
After reaching home, Samuel told his children to follow him to the church but before getting there, highlighted from the bus and took them to a lonely area with their uncle.
Samuel and his brother tied his three kids(age 10, 12 and 14) to a tree and forced them to drink an insecticide(Sniper) while holding them still to make sure they swallowed it and left them to die.
Unfortunately two among the three didn’t make it. The first son, Success Otasi was able to free himself, crawled out to get help and was rescued by a passerby and rushed to the hospital.
After he gained consciousness, he narrated the full story of what happened to the police and gave them the location of where they were tied and poisoned. Before the police could get there to rescue the two siblings, they were already dead.
Success gave the police their house location and that was how they were able to arrest the suspect and his accomplice.
The suspect has been detained at the Igbogene division headquarters and will face charges in court.
