Rita Ushie popularly known as IamRaye, the former corps member who gained viral attention for her criticism of the government, has revealed a shocking development: she was not issued a certificate after completing her service year.
In a recent social media post, she expressed her frustration, stating she was told she would not receive her certificate because she allegedly failed to “clear” herself for the month of April on her scheduled date. However, Raye claims she was present on that day but was deliberately turned away by the Local Government Inspector (LGI).
“I was contemplating if I should share this or not, but just decided to,” she wrote. “After one year of moving to another man’s land to serve my country, it ended with no certificate. I genuinely wish I wasn’t a Lagos State Corper because it’s a waste of my time.”
She further detailed her experience with the LGI, who she claims seized her file and told her to “get out.” Raye shared her deep anger and frustration over the situation, which she described as a “long story” and a chapter she is now closing.
This incident has once again sparked debate online, with many Nigerians sympathizing with her plight and criticizing the administrative issues within the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
