Ade Jare posted on X about the poor hospitality she experienced at the George Residence Ikoyi where she lodged for few days.
She said she was charge N60,000 for a bedsheet because her menstrual flow came unexpectedly.
She wrote, travel stress messed up my circle, something completely natural, and instead of showing empathy, they turned it into a money grab.
Ade narrated how a friend of hers had the same issue In Vegas. The hotel gave her pads and tampons for free. That’s what real hospitality looks like.
Ade concluded on her tweet, “But when it comes to some Nigerian businesses, no compassion, no professionalism. Just greed dressed up as policy.”
The tweet went viral and has brought the attention of the hotel.
Ade dropped a tweet on her wall, “UPDATE: The management of George Residence Ikoyi reached out, apologized, and clarified that the issue wasn’t escalated — the receptionist acted on her own. They’ve offered a full refund of the ₦60,000 and a complimentary stay on my next visit to Nigeria.”
