The Catholic Priest whose name was Rev. Fr Matteo Balzano, aged 35, was found lifeless in his residence. His absence at morning mass raised alarm in the church, until he was found in his room dead.
The news of his suicidal death was a great shock to the community because he was known as a joyful, devoted and ever present priest in his ministry among his parishioners.
Before his demise, Father Matteo works as a Priest in the Diocese of Novara, Italy.
Father Matteo hails from Borgomanero. He was ordained as a Priest in 2017.
The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 10:30am in the Collegiate Church of San Vittore in Cannobio.
